Welcome to the Cliché Story Challenge, a writing contest with prizes such as merit badges, awardicons and GPs.  WHAT IS CLICHE? [Definition taken from http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cliche] A cliché is a saying, expression, idea, or element of an artistic work which has been overused to the point of losing its original meaning or effect, rendering it a stereotype, especially when at some earlier time it was considered meaningful or novel. One can consider a cliché to be a sort of stereotypical instance of a category of concepts.  PROMPT For this round, the prompt is OPEN. As long as your story involves a cliché in it, then your story will be qualified for judging. Only short stories are allowed for this contest. No chapters, poetry, essays, etc. Maybe in future rounds, but definitely not now. 2. Story must not exceed 13+. 3. You can submit up to 2 stories only. If you wish to enter more, each story will cost 100 GPs. However, only ONE story per author can be awarded. 4. Maximum word count for this round is 5000 words. 5. Stories NEED to be submitted in bitem format. If you don't know how it works, click on the link below.
6. Please post the cliché for your story. 7. Stories do NOT need to be newly written for this contest. Anything will do.  8. Please post word count in your story. 9. You can edit as many times as you want. However, if you edit AFTER the deadline, your story will be disqualified.  Post will be deleted if they do not follow these rules. It would be a waste if I had to disqualify them, so please read carefully. PRIZES  First place will receive a awardicon worth 10k or merit badge of judge's choice.  Second place will receive 3000 GPs. Third place will receive 1000 GPs. I may decide to award any honorable mentions with 500 GPs.If there are less than 5 entries, only first place will be awarded.
