DETAILS


*Cool*This contest will run every month for NEWBIES! Get out your best short story or poem and get ready to enter for prizes and recognition*Cool*

WHO MAY ENTER?


NEWBIES = one who has been a member of Writing.Com for 60 days or less (counting back from the first day of current month.)

For June 2011 the term "Newbie" applies to anyone whose portfolio creation date is 04/01/11 or after. Entrants in earlier Contests may also enter each following round as long as their creation date falls within the months that will be listed above. However, the entry cannot be the same item entered in previous rounds.

WHAT?

Each entry must be a static item from a Newbie's portfolio. It can be a poem, with 40 lines or less. Or a short story 10KB or less. NO EXCEPTIONS! Any genre as long as it has a Content Rating of "13+" or less.

Only one entry per Newbie. However, Newbies, or members posting entries on someone else's behalf, may post multiple entries as long as each entry is written by a different Newbie who meets the creation date listed above. For reviewers and readers who spend time welcoming new members, this is a perfect way to honor them and perhaps help them earn Gift Points toward an upgrade.

HOW?

Each entry must be posted in this forum by using a bitem link. Just put: My Entry or Here's An Entry as the subject of your post. You may post directly to the forum (if within the rating of "13+ or less"), but such postings will not be considered official entries and will not be eligible for prizes.


WHEN

Each round closes at Midnight, [Eastern Standard Time] on the last day of each month. Entries posted after that date will automatically be entered in the next round (if eligibility is met). Smile

*Star* BEST SHORT STORY - 10,000 gift points



*Bullet* Entrants may not win First Prize Awards in the same category in two consecutive rounds. BUT may enter in the opposite category from which they won (Short Story or Poem).

*Snow2* *Snow2*PLEASE NOTE: THESE WILL BE READ AND REVIEWED THROUGHOUT THE MONTH SO YOU MAY WANT TO MAKE SURE ALL YOUR EDITING IS DONE PRIOR TO ENTERING YOUR PIECE. Hopefully, this will not inconvenience any one..I have another contest and these both need to be maintained on a daily, weekly and monthly basis.*Snow2* *Snow2*


         Winners' works will be bitem referenced in the winning announcements of that round of this contest.

         If less than ten entries are received, the Gift Pool of 20,000 gift points will be divided equally among entrants. .
