I think as long as the reviewer explains what they liked about it and why, and how it could be better, it's okay to leave short reviews. Would you rather get short reviews or not get reviewed at all? I know when I see a review that is even three words long instead of five sentences, I feel happy that someone read my work. I don't complain that th...[Read Full Post]

Ouch indeed! I don't suppose you'd have any idea of where it can be found?
I see 'reviews' like this on other sites, those that don't take writing as seriously as it is taken here.

Mean and dismissive reviews are rare because the member is noticed and quickly booted off the site. ...[Read Full Post]

Yeah, you're right - sending a review, a better or more specific detailed review, so the writer feels like he/she is just getting the 'canned" stuff.

Yes, let's not lose sight of the fact that the review is, first and foremost, a gift from you to the writer. It has nothing to do with fame and glory and copious GPs. It has to do with sharing. Sometimes, incentive systems backfire - they work for those who have to be arm-twisted into doing anything, but leave others who are - perhaps - more deserving ou...[Read Full Post]
