YOUR SONG


         This is my first contest in quite some time but it's been bouncing around my mind for a while. It's simple, just dedicate a song to yourself.

         As a poet I've always found myself drawn to song lyrics and their meanings and found myself applying them to my own reality, relating them to anything round me including me, myself and I.

         Now it's your turn. Pick a song, any song, and dedicate it to yourself. This is about lyrics and their meaning so there is no concern for what type of music it is or what it sounds like. In your static item display the lyrics and credit it to the group or artist as they deserve the credit. Also, be sure to write why this is your song. What meaning does it have for you and why does it relate to you.

         This is about self examination more than creativity. I will judge for grammer and spelling but the content holds more weight. It can be funny, sad, angry, ironic or anything you want it to be just as long as it seems honest. After all, it is you and your song you are writing about.

         I wouldn't think of suggesting anyone do this without having done so myself so here is an example:

         Now for the pesky rules!
1) It MUST be posted in bitem format.
2) Any rating is okay.
3) Any post not a contest entry MUST have "OT" in the title.
4) Contest ends 9/30 at midnight WC time. (Deadline will extend until there's at least 15 entries.)
5) All posts not complyingwith rules will be deleted.

Any item chosen for honorable mention will recive 2.5K Gift Points.
