Thank you Katherine for the lovely ribbon! WELCOME TO THE 2011 PR REVIEW FORUM! StephB  NOTE: Well, I'm going to try something new this year by hosting two themed product review weeks. For example, during a certain time frame it will be themed and I'll be asking for Product Reviews with that theme. It is fun! and always a great way to share we all are as Angel Army members are reading and watching.  You can post up to 10 Product Reviews on that day in the theme. The incentives are still the same. Here are the themes 15 - 31 AUG 2011 - Any video games to include Nintendo DS, PSP, Wii and other formats 1 - 15 SEP 2011 - DVD's and Fantasy novels 16 - 30 SEP 2011 - CDs. (Ps...Looking for Linkin Park) and Romance Of course you post a product review for any genre, any theme, any product any time you want. But if you post in accordance with the theme, you will receive GP incentives as well as earn merit badges. Incentives are: 10 PR's - PR Merit Badge w/15K Gp (as along as PR's are using the theme of the week) 30 PR's PR Merit Badge w/20K Gp (as along as PR's are using the theme of the week) 60 Pr's PR Merit Badge w/25K Gp (as along as PR's are using the theme of the week) What is Product Review Theme Weeks? Pop into the forum and post your most recent product reviews. All incentives that are posted below are honored. 10 PR's will earn you a PR merit badge. If you've posted PR's before, post some more to earn another PR MB when you hit 30! What Is A Product Review? A product review is a section of WDC, where members get to leave their thoughts on any and all items they must have read or listened to in the form of books, music, DVDs or Video Games. The official 'definition' is:Product Reviews are in-depth critiques of books, music and movies given by Writing.Com members. Searching for that perfect book, film or CD? Then start here! If you find that you like a certain Writing.Com Author, you might also find that you enjoy the same media. Each Product Review also helps support Writing.Com through our link to buy the reviewed product from Amazon.Com. I have had the pleasure of reviewing some of my favorite books and music, and I think it's a fun way to get to share your passion with others around the website. The brainchild of StephB , we have both agreed that this would be a great way to get more people involved with this awesome section of WDC. It tends to get lost within the influx of story, poetry etc. reviews, but with the creation of this forum, we hope that many of you will be willing to participate in the fun! How Do I Do A Product Review?  To access the 'Product Reviews' section, simply look at the top of the WDC site page, and the link can be found in the fifth column, fourth row. Or you can just click on this link to take you there: http://www.writing.com/main/list_items/type/product_reviews If you notice, a page will open where you'll already see a list of reviewed books, movies and music by fellow members. You can review already listed products! which is the fun part of it all. If you look through the list and see a book, movie, or music you've read or listened to, you add your own thoughts about it, by clicking on the link provided and following the instructions.   Don't like the review given? Then change it! Feel you could do better than the last reviewer, then by all means, let's hear what you have to say. Don't see anything on the list that you've just read and you've simply got to share with everyone else? Then have the media on hand, and simply begin writing about it. See? Sounds fun, doesn't it? How to Link a Product Review You can link a product review using the bitem format. When you post the review it gives you a bitem # just like you get when you get a bitem for posting a static item. Here's an example to link: (bPR:108656) Now replace the () with normal bitem brackets {} and you'll get this:
What Do I Get Out of It? Great exposure for that product you've read and simply can't wait to share with others. The ability to read through the reviews already given, so you can get an idea of what you wish to purchase or not.  We are looking for in-depth and good reviews, not just something slapped together quickly. People are basing their purchases on your words after all.
