500 Words a Day is an ongoing dare for writers who may need a group and an incentive to write every day. We have started writing on March 1, 2007.
Quite a few people, when writing down their goals for 2007, expressed the wish to write 500 words a day. In addition, in my struggle to write daily, writing 500 words a day proved to be just right for me.
The main idea for us will be to write on a daily basis to establish serious writing habits. Our group is for people who wish to write 500 words a day or more.
You can always come into the group, even if it isn't the beginning of a month. If later than the 10th of a month you may still be in the group, but probably won't be able to qualify for the prizes.
What we will write will be fiction, non-fiction, and poetry. If you are keeping a diary, please do not badmouth anyone on this site.
What we write we will post in our book item, which will serve as a scratch pad for us. Once posted, nothing can be edited. We may, however, copy and paste our daily entry into another item to edit it or to use it elsewhere immediately, if we wish.
On the days we can't quite make the 500 words, we may write less. We will, at least, be writing every day.
There will be gp prizes at the end of each month.
I feel this is not too difficult a challenge, and most of us do write that much anyhow.
If you'd like to join, please leave a post in this forum with the number of your book item. If you don't have your book item yet, you may post it later in the group's forum.

 To make a book item, you'll need to be upgraded. Unfortunately, there's no getting around that. Those who do not have their book items ready by the middle of the month will be taken out of the group's roster. They may, however, apply here again as soon as they can come up with a book item.
