Featured in the Contests & Activities Newsletter 12/06/07   "Practice Random Kindness, and Senseless Acts of Beauty." I believe that Writing.Com embodies this beautiful quote in a wonderful way. Here, I have found a community inspiring and encouraging beyond imagining. This Holiday season, in conjunction with "Invalid Item"  , let's give back to the community in an even more senseless and beautiful way through the Kindness Tree. Thank you katherine76 for the beautiful ribbon!  Here's how it works: This event will start on November 28, 2007, and will end December 21, 2007. Nominate another fellow writer here on WDC to receive an ornament from the Kindness Tree. Post that person's name, along with a few kind words, in the forum below. Then, according to Virtual Dice, that person shall receive either reviews, Merit Badges, 10K Awardicons, sigs, or other goodies.  Each person can receive a nomination only once. Only five nominations per person, please! Want to know the logistics and see the list of nominees? Check out "The Kindness Tree Fund Box" . You, the nominator, will be automatically entered into a raffle to win fabulous prizes, ranging from Upgraded Memberships to Merit Badges to Reviews! But there's a catch - You Must Nominate Someone that You Do Not Know.  When nominating, please use the {user:nominee} tag The spirit of the Kindness Tree is to distribute senseless acts of kindness to strangers. How will I know whether you are friends with the person you nominate? I won't. I am hoping that everyone will adhere to that rule with the Holiday Spirit in mind and with the desire to brighten up a stranger's day. We have a pretty loose definition of "stranger" here.  Basically, anyone you do not talk with frequently fits the bill.REMEMBER.....  All nominators will be entered in a raffle for prizes like Merit Badges, reviews, and GPs. Depending on the number of nominators we have, the number of prizes will increase proportionally.
