This contest is dedicated to spreading the craft of writing historical fiction and nonfiction. As of April 2009, there will not be a prompt, or any other requirement, other than an obvious link to History. Any size, format, style, and sub-genre is welcome. All members of Writing.com are free to enter. Please make sure to follow the guidelines below.

Guidelines:

One entry per contestant
Entries must be in bitem format {bitem:####} substituting the # for your item ID number
Due to the graphic nature of history, your entry can be any rating, but please respect the forum rating when posting
The last day to enter the current round is the 15th of April at noon WDC time
Items which have previously won an awardicon can be entered, but will be offered a prize which excludes this, although eligible to all others listed.
Only first prize will be awarded if there are less than five entries
