Welcome to my first contest ever! Please bear with me if any kinks need to be worked out along the way. The basic gist of this contest is that you write based on the lyrics of a song. Scroll down for further instructions.  ** Images For Use By Upgraded+ Only ** Thank you, ~*~Damiana Renewed~*~   , for donating this wonderful banner!Rules (and other necessary tidbits):  You can submit one new or old (must not have won anything previously) short story, poem, or essay as long as it was inspired by the lyrics of a song. You may use any song as long as it follows the second rule.  All entries and inspiring songs should be no more than 18+ using WDC standards. If you’re not sure, don’t use it. If you’re not sure and you really want to use it, e-mail me. Short stories and essays should be 500-5,000 words, poems up to 50 lines. If you have an item longer/shorter than this, let me know, I’ll check it out. Usually I’m flexible; I just don’t want flash fiction or a novel.   Please include in your entry either the lyrics themselves or (preferably) a link to somewhere I can find them. The original song does NOT count as part of your word/line count! Please post your entries in bitem format. For help using bitem format, scroll over to "Site Tools" on the left side of this page, then go to "WritingML Help", then "Item Tags". If for some reason you cannot or do not want to post in bitem format, e-mail me and we’ll figure something out. Please don’t post until you’re ready for me to read it! Any changes you make after you post it I may or may not see – just be warned. This contest will run January 1, 2008-January 31, 2008. While I do reserve the right to extend the deadline, I will not cut it short. Take your time! I wanna see your best. Any genre except erotica. All entries will receive an in-depth review by yours truly.
