Weekly Writing Meeting
In conjunction with "
Challenge Group"

[
E].
The purpose of this group is to gain feedback on short stories or longer works with the goal of creating publication-ready pieces and encourage creative momentum. This meeting will take place weekly to discuss submissions. Best guess for time to run is about one hour, but it depends on how many participants submit pieces. Participation every week is encouraged but not mandatory.
We welcome anyone who chooses to read and discuss without a submission, of course, but if you submit something, please remember to be there.
Scheduling:
The current meeting schedule is:
Tuesdays, 6:00pm wdc time(5pm Central, 4pm Mountain, 11 Midnight for Ann, etc)
The meeting should run about an hour, and will be in a writing.com chat window titled 'Writing Meeting,' which will be set up near the meeting time.
Agenda:
In the meeting we will do the following things:
We will set and review our goals, trying to find writing goals that work for each individual.
Report on our progress.
Most important (and most time-consuming), we will discuss samples of the week's work.
Rules of Participation:
Samples will be due two or three days before each meeting, so that people have plenty of time to go over submitted pieces. I will be posting deadlines on a weekly basis. (
Sunday deadline 11:59 pm WDC.
Writing submissions are to be posted below, in ritem or bitem format.
{bitem:1369082} Do not post directly in the forum.
Submissions from any genre are welcome, although participants must be willing to read anything up to the [18+] rating limit. Age of the participants may limit rating level of pieces for review. Currently allowing above the 18+ limit in a separate message forum:
This group is geared toward finishing pieces and polishing them to publish. (I suppose you could polish them to stick ‘em in a drawer somewhere, and if that makes you happy - great!)
If you post something to read and cannot attend part or most of the meeting, you are expected to review the other submissions. This is to stop someone having their piece discussed and leaving.
There is no penalty for anyone who wants to join simply to hone some reviewing skills and not post writing.
Please keep the entries under 3000 words, so that the people reading will have time to review them. There will be no minimum length, and we'd be glad to discuss concepts, future ideas, or even first lines and titles if that's what you want reviewed. Poetry is allowed.
Please split longer pieces with some sort of marker to show where to stop.
Please be prepared to courteously discuss all submitted projects, especially if you want your own work reviewed and discussed. Spamming, discourtesy and discouragement will not be tolerated.
I will give rewards to those who are particularly helpful and constructive in this process, and post a report of what we accomplished after each meeting.
Please keep this message board free of clutter. If you want to ask a question, use email or IM. This message board should be for announcements and submissions only.
Thanks for your participation!
