Rules

This round begins immediately, and ends at 11:59 pm WDC time on the 20th December. The judging will not take place until after the contest closes. You may edit your offering any time up to the deadline.

All entries must be short stories between 1000 and 4000 words. Please post your word count at the beginning or the end of your story. No poetry please!

Because of the nature of the contest, content ratings up to XGC are acceptable. While I enjoy a scorching love scene, some words and phrases that are used more for their shock value will find a slightly deaf ear or blind eye. Use your imagination, my friends.

All entries must be posted in bitem format in the forum below. Please do not copy and paste your story into your forum post. See "Linking Help And Practice"

This is a writing challenge, and thus I seek new stories. However, an older story that fits the prompt AND is previously unawarded may be submitted.

All valid entries will receive an in-depth review. Please let me know if you prefer your review to remain private.

In the event fewer than five entries are received, only first prize will be awarded. If under three entries are received, I reserve the right to extend the deadline, OR issue gift point awards to all entries with their reviews.

NOVEMBER / DECEMBER Prompt

The HOLIDAYS

Write about any romantic or erotic encounter involving the Thanksgiving or Christmas holidays. (I'm sorry, but New Years is not included in this prompt.)

This Paradise Cove Writing Challenge opens on 1 November and runs until 11:59 pm WDC time on 20 December (more than six weeks to complete your prize winning entries). This is due to the judge's participation in NaNoWriMo.

Keep in mind while I said ANY subject is fair game, excessive anything is not always appealing. This is a Writing Challenge. I'm looking for creativity, plot and tension. But of course, remember our charge--make it romantic or erotic. I welcome your imagination.

Prizes

First Place will receive a 25K Awardicon.

Second Place will receive a 10K Awardicon, OR a Romance or Erotica Merit Badge.

Third Place will receive 5000 gift points.

An Honorable Mention may or may not be awarded. Any selectee will receive 1500 gift points.
