For the purpose of this contest, hyphenated words will be counted as two words.

For the purpose of this contest, words used in hyphenated words can not be used again.

For the purpose of this contest, words claiming possession will be counted as same word without possession i.e.
Ricky runs Ricky's 100 word contest -
Ricky just got repeated.

For the purpose of this contest, contractions such as "I've" will be counted as one word; however it will be counted as using I and Have, so if you need room for one more word for the count this is the way to go, but if looking for a way to use I or have twice, sorry, try something else.

For the purpose of this contest you may use a singular form of a word and then a plural form of the word, such as flower and flowers; however words that are identical in both, i.e. "deer" will count as a repeat.

For the purpose of this contest, a verb in its different tenses will not count as a repeat, again if word is identical in different tenses it will count as a repeat.

For the purpose of this contest, words in different languages that say the same thing will count as repeats. I.E. If the American boy tell the French girl "I Love You" don't have her say "Je vous aime" or you will repeat.

Count your words yourself, WordPerfect and Word are not always correct in their counting methods.
