FANFICTION SIXTEEN CONTEST
Welcome to my fanfiction contest!
THE RULES:

Stories can be up to 40,000 words in length. However, stories will be divided into four divisions for judging purposes:
Flash fiction -- less than 1,000 words
Short stories -- at least 1,000 words but less than 7,500
Novelette -- at least 7,500 words but less than 17,500
Novella -- at least 17,500 words but not more than 40,000.
Make sure you put your word count in your entry.

Stories submitted must be fanfiction based on one of the prompts listed below. Stories do not have to be based upon a particular representation of a certain prompt. For example, Tarzan has been a TV series, a comic book, several movies, and even an animated movie (as well as the original book). In addition, the submitted story does not have to be about the central character in the prompt chosen (For example, there are a very good series of books based on Irene Adler, a character in one of the original Sherlock Holmes' stories). But it must be based in one of the prompts listed below. In addition, please post in your entry what prompt your story is based on.

Entries that have been submitted in other contests may be submitted in this one as well. However, entries that have won awards in other contests or have been entered in previous rounds of the
FANFICTION SIXTEEN CONTEST are ineligible to be entered.

In the event that only a single entry has been received in a particular division, I reserve the right to merge divisions for that round into a single division, for the purpose of judging and awarding prizes.

Multiple entries by the same writer are allowed. However, only one entry per division (i.e. flash fiction, short stories, etc.), please.

Please keep the ratings on all stories to 18+ or under

Please post your entry in the bitem form. For information on how to use the bitem form, check out "
Newbie Hyperlinking 101 - Bitem Format"

Deadline for entries for the second round is 11:59 p.m. WDC time, December 11th, 2008. Editing of submissions may be made up until the deadline. Afterwards, please do not edit your submission until judging is complete.

JUDGES EMERITUS:
Special thanks to the judges listed below, without whom past rounds couldn't have succeeded. I not only thank them for their past contribution, but will definitely welcome them if they want to judge future rounds:
Stephanie Grace ♥G-MEN!
Lynn McKenzie
JUDGES NEEDED:
If you'd like to be a judge, please contact me on what divisions you'd like to judge. I prefer judges who are registered authors, have some experience judging, and/or have extensive reviewing experience. Judges may not enter rounds in which they are judging.
MISCELLANEOUS:
After each round, I will let the overall winner pick one of the sixteen prompts to eliminate and to pick a new prompt to replace it (within reason, of course

) In addition, there will be two polls. One to eliminate one of the prompts above, and one to replace it with a new prompt. That way, we'll keep the material fresh!
If you have any questions, suggestions, or comments, feel free to contact me with them. And keep on writing!
