Welcome to the Images In Ink Short Story Contest.

Welcome all Images In Ink Members,
As you may know Images In Ink offers a monthly Poetry Contest to all members of our fantastic group, but what about the people who prefer to extend their hand towards short stories? Naturally they are unable to show off their craftsmanship in a Contest which strictly houses Poetry.

Our group is diverse and versatile and we strive to meet the individual preferences of all members. Images In Ink is not just a group it is a family and we all want our family members to be happy.
The lovely Mi Belle * Michelle brainstormed and offered us this gem. The Images In Ink Short Story Contest.

This is our group's first short stories contest and I am hoping we can all pull together to make it as successful as other activities with our group's name stamped on them.

Whilst the Contest is in its early stages it will be considered as a monthly Contest. Once more members become aware of its existence and genuine interest is expressed I may consider making this a fortnightly or perhaps weekly Contest.

At the end of each cycle the prompt will change and so will the judges. As this is strictly an Images Ink Ink activity I would like all guest judges to be members of our group. Anyone interested in becoming a guest judge, please shoot me an email and I will be more than happy to include you. The more the merrier.

Rules

1. Open to Images In Ink members only.
2. Only one entry per person each round please.
3. Your item may reach any rating but please keep your forum posts an 'E' rating.
4. All items are specifically to be written in accordance to the prompt. The prompt MUST be included in your item.
5. Word limit no less than 300 and not to exceed 2,500 words. Please include your wordcount at the end of your item.
6. All entries must be posted in bitem format. If you are experiencing difficulties in doing so please email me directly.
7. I will allow editing of your item up until the closing of each round. Any entry to receive editing after the closing date will be disqualified.

Prompt
It's time to lighten the mood so this month's prompt will be to write a true account of a funny or embarrasing moment you have experienced in real life. C'mon you know you want to share LOL.

I would like for all entries to be written specifically for this round. Time of creation must be dated within the opening and closing time of this round to be considered- thank you. The deadline for submissions is- 30th of November.

prizes

1st place- A 10K Awardicon on the winning item and a merit badge of the judges choice.

2nd place- A merit badge of the judges choice.

3rd place- A number 1 "Helping Hearts." package.

Prizes will be raised once the Contest gets off the ground.

I reserve the right to give honorable mentions at will.
All 1st place winners will be recognized on the main page.

This round will open on the 1st of October and end on the 31st of November 2009.

All contestants will receive public reviews for their entries. If any contestants are uncomfortable with a public review, please alert me and I will be sure to privately review you, as will the judges.
