Parenting Short Story Contest


Do you have a story about your child or children that you would love to share with the world? Is there an extraordinary event that needs to be written down? Here's your moment to shine with that tale. Fiction and non-fiction are welcomed.


The contest will accept entries from May 13th, *Woman* Mother's Day, 2012 12:01 AM WDC time
until June 17, *Man* Father's Day, 2012 11:59 PM WDC time.


*Document* Short stories only, please include the word count at the top or bottom of your story, not in the forum post. There is no word count limit, but if you write a longer short story, it has to hold my attention. Sorry, no poetry.

*Idea* New stories or UNAWARDED stories only. Then, why is there an awarded story in the qualified entries? Because it was awarded after getting posted here.

*CheckB* One entry per author.

*ThumbsUp* Any family story involving any combination of parents, that means mom & dad, single mom or dad, two moms or two dads, siblings raising another sibling, step parents, adoptive parents, foster parents, grand parents is welcome. (tell me if I'm forgetting a combination)
This also includes stories in which the "child" is legally adult.

*ThumbsDown* Absolutely NO stories in which children get hurt by malevolent adults! That means I will not read a story in which a child is molested, raped, physically or mentally abused. I don't care if there is a happy ending. I will not read such stories and delete your post if you submit such a thing.

*Magnify* Please proofread for typos and grammar to your best abilities. It makes for more enjoyable reading.

*Reading* *Dollar* Anybody who sends a public review to one or more of the submitted stories and posts the link in the forum will receive reviewing credit by me. The more in-depth and helpful the review, the higher the reviewing reward.

*Ax* Post your entries in b-item format in the forum. Do not paste your story into the forum post, it will get deleted.
