Do you change the lyrics to your favorite songs just to laugh?

Do you watch Gone with the Wind and think that George Carlin and Sarah Silverman would have been better for the leads and it really would have been better with a run-time of 15 minutes?

Did you think that Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman should have written their version of the Time Traveler's Wife?

Well... this contest is for you.



Out there is a world of writing that I would like you to parody...

Choose an existing story or poem from any genre and twist it... make it funny, make it silly, make it ridiculous, and most importantly, make me laugh...

You will know that you are on the right track when you yourself are laughing as you write. 


the rules...

You have until Thursday the 10th of December (at midnight EST) to enter.

Please reference the original item you are parodying (copy and paste it directly before your work-over of it... )

Please try to keep in mind that children may be entering/reading this forum, so try to keep your work at an everyone rating. If you cannot be funny without pushing the edge of that rating, please let me know and I will see what I can do.

Keep stories/prose to less than 1000 words and poems to 40 lines or less...
If you feel you must be wordy, or your intended target for your comedic genius is War and Peace or Homer's Odyssey, please let me know through email and I will consider making exceptions for length...

You may enter more than one item but only one item will be given a prize if you are chosen a winner

It may take me some time to get through the entries depending on how many there are.  I will update you all in this forum as to when I will have winners chosen.

The Prizes...

First Place will be given 10,000 GPs and a shiny awardicon (you get to choose what color)
Second place will be given 5,000 GPs
Third place will be given 2,500 GPs
Honorable mentions will be given 1,000 GPs.
