         Congratulations to Wyrd_Naos

She made it as one of the top 50 finalists for the Poetry Rivals 2011 competition (out of 5,000)! The grand slam was held in Peterborough the weekend of 4/20/2012 where they were asked to read their poems aloud, before the winners were chosen. She also had a poem published in their 2011 'Forever Words' Collection, and then the over 18's Slam Finalist 2011 Collection. Way to go!

         Congratulations to Fancie's Lovin' Spring

Cornerstone Deep Echoes, the second book in my Chronicles of Shilo Manor series is now under contract with Class Act Books with a release date of February 15, 2012. ( A day after my birthday! How cool is that!)

This is the second book being published that I began here on WDC and was helped along by the Fantasy Keep Novel Workshop. The first, of course, was Cornerstone Deep, released November 15, 2010.

Thank you all who helped review it. Next up? Aumelan - World Beneath the Rock. Yeah, they'll take that one too.

         Congratulations to Ashley Daeschlein for publication of her piece, "Fairy Magic," in the winter edition (Jan-Mar) of the e-zine, Golden Visions. "Fairy Magic" is a short story which she wrote for a Paper Doll Gang contest when she was just a newbie. Way to go, Ashley!

         Congratulations to Ali ~ novel planning for publication of her short story, "Augie"  which is featured in the March, 2011 edition of the The Victorian Press e-zine. We're so proud of you!

         Congratulations to Bikerider for publication of two of his stories. They will be published in August, 2011 in an Anthology coming out for the tenth anniversary of September 11th. Fantastic job!

         Congratulations to JOY-on LOA for one of her articles which will be included in the newest edition of Chicken Soup for the Soul! The book is subtitled "Answered Prayers" and will hit the shelves on October 18, 2011. Look for her article, "Jesus Be My Eyes".

~Update: Last week, the new Chicken Soup came out with my story in it. A few days later, I was contacted by a reporter from the newspaper! She interviewed me and wrote about my work in her column that appeared in yesterdays edition. First written local recognition!!
Also, I got to do a reading from my book at a charity event last Friday, and then yesterday I was invited to speak at an event in November! It is all so scary, but exciting!! ~Joy
