![]() Judges Chambers, March Madness Contest This contest requires submission entries qualify as a WDC rating of not higher than "+18", as defined here Note: Thank you for participating. If you wish to donate prizes/awards/packages, etc. please post them at Contest Page Welcome to the place where you can do your work. Your job is to evaluate, review, and determine the winning submissions for the Reviewing Reviewers March Madness contest. This is a private gathering, where your deliberations can be made. Here are a few considerations for you to remember as you go about your work. 1. Your work is deeply appreciated by The Reviewing Reviewers Group. Our purpose for this contest is to give honest, in-depth reviews and evaluations of what should be considered by the entrant publication ready work. Your work should come from that particular point of view. Critical analysis and review, to whatever level or degree you feel appropriate is the task before you. 2. While entries will come from three distinct options, the requirements are the same for you: A. All work is to be original creative writing specifically created by the entrant for this contest only. B. Word Count (where appropriate) is the same for each choice: 2,000-2,500. (Option B is for graphics only. Option D is limited to 50 lines of either Epic Poetry or Poetic Prose forms). The entrant may choose to add or detract up to 10% of that total, but this may be fairly reflected in your evaluation. Any submission that has a word count of less than 1800, or more than 3,000 WC should be immediately and permanently disqualified by you. For purposes of fairness, any DQ should be by agreement between the judges prior to action being posted in the contest forum. You may use this, but are not required to in your deliberations and final score determinations if the work is within the (+/- 10%) option. Public reviews are expected. These will, for the most part, be completed by our group members. Feel free to post your own public reviews as well, using the WDC scoring system--as a reviewer with access to the works submitted. Please do NOT change your determinations in your personal reviews simply because they will be publicly posted in the Public Reviews Page. This is a valued and juried contest for the WDC community. Our standards should be clearly identified in your reviews. Manners should be observed, but please give this opportunity your very best work. If you have questions, please direct them to the Contest Leader, Sara♥Jean Public reviews will be weighted at an accumulated average of not more than 50% of the total submission score. Your adjudications will be weighted at an accumulate average of not more than 50% of the final submission score. You alone will select, from all submitted work, one final overall Grand Prize Winner, based upon a 0-100 point system that you alone will define for yourself during this portion of the contest. You may choose any single submission for your choice for the Grand Prize. Each option will have a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winner determined by your evaluation and determination. These will be posted by you, here, no later than April 7th, 2010. All submissions will be again reviewed by the entire Adjudication panel for one Grand Prize Winner. That winner will be announced not later than April 14th, 2010. Your final evaluations may be submitted here at any time after the submission deadline has passed, which will give you two weeks for your portion of the contest activity. The two benchmarks (April 7th, and April 14th, 2010) must be kept. We have chosen NOT to create uniform Adjudication Forms for this contest. We respect your abilities within your particular panel. We ask only that you remember this contest is designed to provide to the contestant, by you, critical analysis of the work submitted according to those particular standards which you alone determine for your work. All judging done by you is anonymous; only the leadership team should see your judging form, to be posted along with each submission you adjudicate as a post in this forum. There is no requirement for a separate adjudication form for your selection of the overall winner. We ask only that you do review those submissions, and make your choice by name on the final selection Survey form for the Grand Prize Winner. You will have the opportunity to, should you choose, to defend your selection--but are not required to. In those cases where, during the initial round of Adjudication your panel should decide to disqualify a submission, we would need a report from your panel to that effect, explaining the reasons for your DQ. They will not be argued by anyone outside your panel. They will stand, and be supported by the contest leaders and "Reviewing Reviewers" The panels will be announced shortly prior to the submission deadline. Only then will you know who is on your panel. Please remember that all adjudication after submission deadline is to be anonymous to the contestant. Your name or identity will not be revealed, but a form of Adjudication for each submission must be submitted by each Judge on your panel. Please refrain from reading the evaluations of other judges on your panel until your winners have been determined and submitted to the contest leaders. The text of your adjudication will be forwarded to each contestant following the close of the contest; your name will not be. This is to preserve the quality of the contest, and the identity of our judges. We hope this will permit your very best work. Thank you again for your work.
