![]() When writing, a great vocabulary can mean the difference between an ordinary story or poem and a piece which will be remembered --- sometimes for years afterward. Each month this contest will present ten vocabulary words for inclusion in a work of short story or poem. Many of these words you will have to look up the definitions and some you may recognize. Practicing writing and expanding your boundaries as a writer is what this contest is designed to do. Rules: Most of all, have fun and be creative. Judging will be centered around how seamlessly you insert the words into your piece and the correct usage and, of course, a great story/theme helps too! Judging will be done by the 15th of the next month. Prizes: 1st Place receives 2nd Place receives 3rd Place receives An annual Grand Prize of the highest awardicon that gift points will allow also will be awarded. Each monthly 1st Place winner will be automatically entered. You will be Vocabulary Royalty! One further note: Should a writing piece be removed from WDC, it will become ineligible for the annual award. WINNERS!! For the year Sep-2010 to Aug-2011 the ANNUAL award goes to: Teargen

“ "Your father was tired of vagary," said Anrai as Rionnach perched rigidly on her father's great oak chair. "He wanted our clan to prosper and stop struggling to exist.
