There are still a few details that need to be worked out, before we can re-launch. We don't want to stem the flow of creativity, so we're running a {size:4.5}"Mini Merit Badge Challenge" See the prompts section for details. Kasia✎gone4weekend   & Brother Nature   This contest runs every week with new prompts and prizes, promoting creativity and diversity throughout the Writing.Com community. What are we looking for? Everything from short stories and poetry to non-fiction and articles, and beyond. Above all, we study potential in a writer’s style, and nurture talent in both novice and veteran. Our goal is to help you improve your writing style and achieve your dreams, and to always write on. "Think left and think right and think low and think high. Oh, the thinks you can think up if only you try!" ~ Dr. Seuss Vote here: "Invalid Item"    Accepting: every item type (short stories, flash-fiction, non-fiction, poetry, prose, lyrics, etc.) and all genres (keeping to 13+ rating, i.e. no erotica). Entry must be written new for this contest and must follow one of the weekly prompts. Only one entry per contestant allowed, so make it good! Please post in bitem format in message forum below. For help creating bitem link: "How to Create a B-item Link " Entry should not be rated above the 13+ rating of this forum. Word count not required, but please keep entries under 9000 words. When posting an entry, make sure it follows one of the prompts for the current week. Do not post an entry for a previous or future week. Competitors are not required to enter every week to qualify for prizes – but the more you enter, the more likely your chance of winning! Rounds close and open every Sunday night (11:59 pm, WDC Time). Winners are posted at the end of each month.   PRIZES FOR FEBRUARY 2013 ARE AS FOLLOWS 1 "Creativity" Merit Badge Grand Prize Winner: 20k in GPs + 10k Awardicon (given at the end of the month to the best entry of the month) 1st Place: 10k in GPs + "1st Place Winner" Trophy2nd Place: 8k in GPs 3rd Place: 6k in GPs Honorable Mention: May receive GPs. Judge's discretion. Prizes are given out at judge’s discretion. If there are less than eight entries submitted, only first place will be awarded. Grand Prize is awarded every month regardless. Constant entrants may receive Merit Badge after 6 months (in a row) of competing.
