A CONTEST

 "I hold it up and show my buddies like we ain't scared, and our boots ain't muddy and they all laugh like there's something funny 'bout the way I talk, when I say momma sends her best, y'all. I fold it up and put it in my shirt, pick up my gun and get back to work... And it keeps me driving on. Waiting on letters from home."

Talking with Veterans, who are members of WDC, they said the one thing they loved was LETTERS FROM HOME, that some of the guys for various reasons never received mail.

From now until Memorial Day, please enter this contest and write to a serviceman or servicewoman, serving overseas or to those who may be in hospital, back home now getting care, but miles from home.

You can add a poem or a short story, from your port, or write something new. However, you must write a Letter. That is what will be judged. You may enter as many times as you wish.

These letters will be e-mailed to servicemen, so please state your country.

To award prizes I would like at least twenty-five entries. This is really about sending Letters from home.
No entry will go unrewarded.*Smile* 300 Gp's given for entering. Guys get writing.

A wondefully written letter; full of vivd imagery and comforting thoughts that would take any soldiers worries for the moment away; as he or she would be reading this letter.

I remember trying to imagine the rolling hills, springtimes joyous return and all of the pleasant landscapes from my hometown...I am a Gulf War Veteran. I would have truly appreciated reading this letter during my tour over seas and am just as pleased to read it now. I hope you send this letter to a soldier--believe me it would make their day. Getting mail was THE MOST, " looked forward to," part of our service. The dissapointment I felt when there was mail call and I did not recieve a letter was HORRIBLE.
