This is a bi-monthly contest. It has a month-on, month-off format. It is an intense battle of the bloggers. The Blogging community is a thriving one and this is why people keep coming back, month after month after month.
Previously from EARL --- "The blogging challenge is back to life. It's not just the 7-Day Blogging Contest but the more exciting and rewarding 30 Days Blogging Challenge. This contest has been on WDC since 2008. Many were inspired and motivated into the blogging world by it. I am personally the product of this challenge. I came to know a few of our fellow WdC members closely through it. I was able to relate to their experiences, and of course, build friendships."

STEPS TO JOIN
 One does NOT have to have a WDC blog or a journal.
 Basic Level Users of this site may create a discussion forum for their blog. As long as the chosen format allows some form of public commenting or messaging for discussion, it will be allowed. If in doubt email Emily ~ Hi'ilawe .
 Free Users may use the discussion forum on this page or they can email Emily ~ Hi'ilawe and she will create a forum for you to blog in.
Upgraded and Above can use book items/blogs to record their blog in. Blogs can be any rating.
 OPTIONAL - Create a new blog for this challenge (otherwise: use an old one.)
Give this  "30-Day Blogging Challenge" a public review.
3 or more blog prompts must be private mailed to Emily ~ Hi'ilawe before challenge begins or upon late entry. See "Blog Prompts Format" for more details about suitable prompts.
Note: This last rule only applies for OFFICIAL challenges.
PRIZES (For Official Months only)
First Place --- BLUE 75,000 Awardicon for the winning blog, and a Journaling Merit Badge for the Blogger
Second Place --- RED 50,000 Awardicon for the second place blog, and a Journaling Merit Badge for the Blogger
Third Place --- YELLOW 25,000 Awardicon for the third place blog, and a Journaling Merit Badge for the Blogger
Honorable Mentions --- A verifiable no-prize. Being mentioned honorably IS the prize! Others might send you a merit badge or an Awardicon for your blog and we encourage that.
***NOTE***
The Host has the right to award less than First, Second, and Third place if there are insufficient entrants in a competition or if the entries for the month are sub-par.
Each week during Official Months, a Merit Badge will be handed out during the proceedings, on a particular day. You'll have forewarning of this in the daily emailed prompts. It won't be the same day each week.
There are two formats. Official and Unofficial. They alternate month by month. Only the Official format is judged and awarded prizes.
OFFICIAL EDITION
Wildcard Mondays!: To free a day of the week up for some more interesting prompts, Mondays will now be a quite unpredictable! Prepare to think on your toes!  Prompts will be a mix of anything I can think up. You may be prompted to write persuasive articles, quote analysis pieces, current world event summaries, or general writing adages.
War Chest Tuesdays: A prompt from our pool of challenger prompts known as The Challenge War Chest.
War Chest Wednesdays: A prompt from our pool of challenger prompts known as The Challenge War Chest.
Opinion Thursdays: An opinion piece prompt also from the Challenge War Chest.
Funny Friday: A funny prompt, usually from the War Chest.
Creation Saturday: A creative writing prompt from the War Chest will be used. Challengers are encouraged to write a poem or story.
The Sunday Review: Blog. Tell us about your week. Include your favorite blog entry from your fellow challengers from the preceding week and, most importantly, why.
Serial Experience: The last two days of each challenge form the Serial Experience where you blog about one experience in two parts.

UNOFFICIAL FORMAT
Also known as "Follow Me Edition," in Earlspeak.
Rules:
1. Sign up with your blog link. Blogs can be any rating. This means bloggers are not required to comment on blogs that are higher rated than their rating preference.
2. A calendar listing the participants for Unofficial Edition will be posted in a forum indicating which participant will initiate a blog each day.
3. When you're the Blog Initiator, you are responsible for writing a blog entry for all other challengers to read and follow.
4. Other than being a Blog Initiator, you are a Follower. As a blog follower make sure to read the day's Initiating entry.
5. Respond within twenty-four hours in your journal.
6. To prevent days with no initiating entry, each Initiator must give an alternate blog title to be used in case of emergencies. If the next scheduled Initiator does not turn up for work the next day, other Followers will use this Emergency Prompt. The normal advertised schedule is followed after that.
