Welcome to my Sanctuary




Hello, my name is Jocelyn. I guess you can say I am a writer. I normally do it just to vent out strong emotions I have towards things. Poetry is great for that. But I am trying to get back to writing stories. I miss doing it and I have lost my way because of my focus on poetry. So I joined writing.com to help me get those skills back.

The name Yuuyake is Japanese. It means sunset. I thought it was such a beautiful word that I have been stuck with it ever since. I can have a conversation in Japanese but its still pretty broken as I forget to use the right grammar. But I have a lot of fun speaking it.

I currently live in Northern Japan. If you are wondering, I was here during the earthquake. It was the first time feeling something so powerful. I am originally from New Jersey, U.S.A so earthquakes are not a thing we get there. But the people in my town were very nice and did everything they could do take care of me. Even people who I didn't even know tried to help me.

I have since went to one of the hardest hit towns that suffered the most damage from the disaster and volunteered. Mostly we helped collect the large amount of items that litter the ground everywhere. But it was an experience I would never forget.

Anyways, I like to write about deep philosophical things. Things that make you question something. I think currently the two stories that I have that does that (maybe not successfully) are "Dream Jobs are not stress-free"  and"A Celestial Awakening"  (this one is still incomplete).
