"I have been a member of this wonderful site for five days. I have written more and had more fun than I ever had on any other writing site. I have gotten such excellent suggestions for improving my pieces that I have rewritten at least four pieces and am much pleased with them. To those of you who offer really good suggestions and complements, thank you. Please continue. I participated at several other sites, but this is my new HOME!"

After teaching such courses as "The Grammar Garden" and "Punctuation Station" and assisting in the "Sunrise" course; Rixy joined the administration of New Horizons Academy in February 2011.  Her experience and wisdom were invaluable, and her wonderful sense of humor helped during times of trial and stress. Always teaching, here are two item she sent originally as just e-mails: "Paraprosdokian"  "The English Language is Insane!"

On the topic of plots for writing, Rixy sent me this in an e-mail:
From the Smart Ones:
1. Aristotle: Only two plots. Exist the other are variations of 2.
2. Carlo Goizzi: wrote a book about it and cataloged 36 plots.
3. Rudyard Kipling: 69
4. Ronald B. Tobias: 20 Master Plots and how to build them From wherest I got the first 3 suggestions. Go figure.......Just saying....Have a wonderful day in praise, prayer, and honor of our Lord! Missy

"Forgot to send a Happy Morning. Tuesday is T day: This is the day the Lord hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.....will keep this in mind as I drive my Aztec

"Guess I will have TRUE AIR conditioning again today. Good thing my hair is cut really short and spikey. That way when I get where ever I am going, it looks like someone just  spent some time fixing my hair!"

"Missy Estes was a amazing woman, who will be greatly missed.... I had her as a teacher and it amazed me all the time and effort she put into her students and their work. She would not settle for good work, she wanted it better. She knew how to push for you to reach that goal. One of the memories, I will remember the most is our class was know for being the worst class out there, no one wanted wanted to sub for our class. Mrs. Estes, got smart she would bring a camera the day she would not be at school and record us while we had a sub. Then she would pick up the camera and watch the video of our class. Mrs. Estes was a inspirational to all that knew her and her work! R.I.P. Mrs. Estes"
