How many times have you read a novel and two weeks later couldn't remember the name of the protagonist? F. Scott Fitzgerald said,  "Character is plot, plot is character."

Peter LaSalle has noted, "out of character, plot easily grows, but out of plot, a character does not necessarily follow."

Who can forget Captain Ahab, Scrooge, Huckleberry Finn, Scarlett O'Hara, or Lennie from "Of Mice and Men"? These strong characters brought life to these classic books and will never be forgotten.

Your mission, should you decide to accept it, is to create a character that I will remember long after your story ends. A character that brings your story to life, and makes it matter.

THE RULES


*Bullet* FICTION STORIES ONLY (NO NOVEL CHAPTERS)

*Bullet*  *Pointright*A minimum word count of 2000 up to a maximum of 10,000 words. *Pointleft*

*Bullet* No prompt.

*Bullet* Punctuation, spelling, style and grammar will be taken into consideration.*
* This counts towards the overall rating--keep in mind, this is a contest about writing a strong character. In the end, it's the character I remember the most that is awarded as the winner.


*Bullet* Only 1st Place will be awarded if there is less than 10 entries. I want your achievement to matter.

*Bullet*  Older stories welcomed. New creations are encouraged.

*Bullet*  Since I'm the only judge, if there is an overload of entries, a cap of twenty-five will be allowed this round.

*Bullet*  No Awarded Entries*
* If an entry receives an award before winners are announced--it will be disqualified.


*Bullet*  No rating over 18+

*Bullet*  No Erotica  *Bullet*  No Vampires, Werewolves, or Zombies

*Bullet*  One entry per person.  Story to be entered only once--no previous entries to this contest to be submitted again.

*Bullet*  *Burstbr* Include word count within the story--top or bottom--not in the forum.

*Bullet* *Burstbr*  You may edit content until close of contest, but I may review your entry at anytime.
