The contest is closed, now the judging begins. Good thing I did a contest for flash fiction, or it could have taken until next Halloween for me to finish the judging. As it is, I'm sure we'll be done before April Fool's Day. Thanks to all who entered. Keep an eye out for the next in the series. The rules for this contest are simple. 1) The story must involve Halloween. Halloween must be a major factor in the story. Simply mentioning that it is Halloween is not enough. The story must have a sense of Halloween all through it. 2) The story must be short, no more than 1000 words. Any story longer than this will be automatically disqualified. 3) All genres are accepted. 4) There are three catagories for entry, stories of 250 words or less, stories of 251 to 500 words, and stories of 501 to 1000 words. Any author may enter one story in each catagory. Only the first story entered in each catagory by a given author will be considered. Please make a note in the item desctription or at the begining of the story what the word length is so I don't have to guess. 5) The deadline is Oct. 31 (Surprise surprise). Judging will take place after that. Winners will be announced when the judging is done. Sorry I can't be more specific than this, but my schedule is a hectic as it's ever been and I have no idea how much better or worse its going to get before Halloween. That's it. Write me a story about Halloween in any genre of 1000 words or less, and you could be a winner. Thanks to a lot of generosity, and some fortunate windfalls, I have been able to boost the prize total to 90,000 GPs, so 30,000 per size catagory, divided as followes 15,000 for first place in each catagory 10,500 for second place in each catagory 4,500 for third place in each catagory Good luck and good writing.
