Martyr
An old man, made cynical by years of working in a morgue, is given a new perspective.

The rules are simple. Find the very best horror item already in your portfolio, and written in 2002. Then link it here. In the message with the link, tell us how this story came to be. What was your inspiration. How did the story shape up and form over time. Or, to quote a published author not in the horror field, "Why did you do this and why in God's name didn't someone stop you?"

The contest is now closed and judging has commenced. Winners will be announced no later than March 1st, 2003.

There will be a panel of judges, whose membership is so select that they shall be known only to me, and one other entity in the entire cosmos. Oh, and to each other. They will decide the fates of the stories entered. Awardicons will be awarded to those judged most worthy.

The number and type of icons will depend on donations, which are coming in quickly. At this time, there will be a first place, second place and third place winner.

Every entry will get at least one review from me, and probably lots of others from the voting public. I will also give 1000 GPS to every entrant when the contest closes on Jan 31.
