Everyone knows the story of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, right? Remember the part at the chocolate factory, where the Oompa Loompas sing that song, with a verse for each naughty kid who gets into trouble and mysteriously disappears? Well, now it's YOUR turn to write your own verse. The winner will receive either 10,000 GP's, or a 10,000 GP awardicon in the colour of his or her choice. I'll review everyone's verse, though, okay? The contest will close on June 1st, but I'll extend it if not a lot of people enter by then. In case you need inspiration, here's my verse: Oompa Loompa doopity dee, If you are wise, you will listen to me! What could be wrong when you've grown but not learned, Luxury's something that's got to be earned? Begging your friends and your parents for cash Just for a wedding with sparkle and flash, Registry lists twice as long as your arm, Sure to cause guests major financial harm, No expense spared, all the whistles and bells, Cash dances, cash bars, and big wishing wells, Shake down your guests for each penny you spent, Nothing is free, let them know your intent! If they give gifts that are not up to par, Then all your life, you'll be forever scarred. In a few years, will you know who's at fault, When your kid turns out like Veruca Salt?! Ooompa Loompa doopity dee, If you are wise, you will listen to me! Oompa Loompa doopity dude, Cash grabs at weddings are really quite rude. Oompa Loompa doopity deans, Please be polite, keep it within your means! |
