Welcome to my neck of the woods! I'm hoping all you string players out there will get involved and share your thoughts, hopes, and dreams with each other. And a little advice or help wouldn't be so bad either. I belong to another strings group in which its members give one another a great amount of support, and I'm hoping the same will happen here. I know this is a writing group, but writer's are also musicians, among other things. And hey, share a song you've written, or a poem about your instrument!
Heehee, post an image of your fiddle, banjo, madolin, guitar, ukelele, harp, cello, bass, viola, or whatever other stringed instrument you may play. Tell us a story about your ancestors sailing to America and living in the mountains where music was their main entertainment.
List your favorite books or movies that include great clips of your favorite instrument.
Who are some of your musical mentors?
What type of music do you like? Bluegrass? Cajun? Folk? Country? Klezmer? Classical? Rock? (and there are so many more other styles, too!) You must have some great CDs you could tell us about.
Or maybe you are just learning how to play a stringed instrument and would like to request a list of self-instruction books (I have a ton of fiddle/violin recommendations!!!)
