Welcome to Writer's Fallout Shelter! My name is Liam Jackson and I'm a professional horror hack. To date, I've sold three manuscripts, the most the most notable (or infamous) being Offspring. (This makes me neither a prolific author nor an expert on the subject of publishing. It just means I'm very, very fortunate.)
I also may be the only guy ever excommunicated from a church that he never belonged to in the first place, because of a novel. Some folk just have no sense of humor or appreciation for "artistic license." (Please bear in mind, I take no personal pride in that fact. I do, however, find it quite interesting, and not a little entertaining.)
I'm also a Writing.com alumnus from 2002. I invite you to spend time inside the Fallout Shelter. Browse the diverse topics and feel free to chime in as the spirit moves you. Discuss plot and character development, themes, plot devices, the publishing industry, queries and submissions, or just kick back and relax.
I don't pretend to have all the answers (Most of the time, I'm not even sure of the question). However, I'm a resource hound. If you've got questions, I bet we can find the answers.
There are very few Rules of Engagement. Those rules are:
1. Egos are cool but check all flamethrowers at the door. If you don't understand the term "flame war" or "flamethrower", e-mail me.
2. Easy on the profanity. We'll have young visitors.
3. You may plug your work, (in fact, I encourage you to do so) but please be reasonable. No spamming the same post a dozen times. I'm allergic.
4. Please demonstrate courtesy for your fellow writers. All criticism should be constructive.
