I already commented on your story, but I do think this is the perfect subject to have a discussion on. Thank you so much for drawing it to my attention.
The other day, in fact, I was listening to the radio about a woman/teacher who had sexual relations with her 14 year old student. I'm not sure if you've heard about it or not, and even I, accidentally heard it, but it made me wonder about a lot of things.
The woman didn't get charged and hasn't been put to jail, because the boys family dropped their charges.
In my opinion, she should have known better, but I still wonder if it was really child molestation, or act of nature. The boy, at that age, isn't really clueless, and from all the talks, he didn't seem such a victom.
I've heard many stories about priests who molested children but it seems that those were shushed after a while. Lot's of 'he should be forgiven because he's been so close to God' and what not, but in all honesty, shouldn't that kind of person know that doing such things is more than just wrong? Doesn't he think that he sinned in Gods eyes? I wouldn't forgive him.
I understand why the death sentence would be a good solution for each and one of those child molesterers, but it would be an easy death though. They need to suffer as all of their victims have suffered.
As a matter of fact, I just remembered that one of those 'monsters' lives in my friends' neighborhood. Apparently, he's rid of his 'sickness' and should leave a normal life. I doubt that's really possible or believable.
I'm not sure what could be done about it all though.
