Rose, so, so sorry to hear about your sister. I know nothing about lung cancer but you have the internet at your finger tips. Use it! Knowledge is everything with cancer.

I can tell you that being told you have cancer is the worst thing in the world. Your world stops. I kept a journal and that really helped me. One thing I can tell you is...which I know you will be is to be there for your sister. Although you need to be strong...I was glad to read you both cried together. Don't be afraid to cry...it's a great release.

One thing that shocked me and I wrote about it in my journal was the amount of people who could not even call me during my fight with cancer.

I believe a "good" comes out of something terrible. Mine? I scared so many women into getting pap tests. Many hadn't had a pap test in..........years. So? Maybe I saved a few lives along the way. I'd like to think so.

Another thing that came out of having cancer....I enjoy every day to the fullest. Once you're told you have cancer...your world stops. Nothing matters except being told you are cancer free. Free? You are never the same after being told you have cancer. For years even though I was told I was cancer free....every pain...."Is it cancer?"

But I stop more often and smell the flowers , watch the birds or just sit holding a cat for just a few minutes longer. Because I can do so. I fought....I'm alive.

Hang in there. Do some research so when the doctors tell you what they think should be done...you're ready to say...."Yes...that sounds right." or..."No...I think we'll get another opinion."

It's your right to do so. It's your sister's body. Doctors are not gods.

Be smart!

Be the strong one here.

We're here in this forum for you or feel free to contact me....anytime.

Sending huge hugs your way.
