I found myself over the years falling prey to using such writing when I wasn't meant to. Did I ever hate myself when I noticed. Now I even sit with a dictionary next to me while writing in my offsite blog; as a way to force myself into writing normally in informal settings. I still slip up with LOL but that is about it. Personally text and net shorthand gets hard to read after awhile. If I surf blogs and find lots of it, I don't read them. I hope teachers don't allow the trend of such writing to keep entering students work. |
