Thanks for pointing that out, Gypsy. The survey form has been revised. At one time we allowed members to join who had empty portfolios, but as time went on, those members were the ones that didn't contribute to the group or tended to read other authors' novels but not write. In order to protect the integrity of first publication rights, The Novel Workshops need to function soley as critique groups and not groups where anyone can join and read works. Therefor, it was decided that a chapter exist in order to join.
