I'm constantly coming up with ideas, both brilliant and really, really, REALLY dumb ;) so I usually carry a notebook around, just to jot down a sentence or two that comes to me. If I'm caught without one usually I'll repeat the phrase or idea like a madman until I find something to write with and on.

I have about a dozen concepts percolating in my little brain, and I usually work two at a time (again... if they're any good). Sometimes I'll start something and won't come back to it for months... sometimes I'll be on fire and write everything in one day.

But it's different for everybody. Do whatever feels right.
