Subject:   Sprinting with Write or Die
I waited tonight in the hopes that they'd do the word sprints again via Twitter, but guess it wasn't meant to be. Darn. So, I decided I'd do my own using Write or Die. When I went to go to the site, it was seriously bogged down. Guess I'm not the only NaNo'er with that idea, huh? Wink So, when it finally loaded, I splurged and bought the Desktop version. That was a great program to buy for $10. Not only that, but it will remain very useful even after NaNo is over. Sometimes, I just need a little something to push me along. Smile

Anyway! I'm doing little 15 minute sprints when I get the time. Apparently, that's about all my attention span can handle. *Laugh* So far, I've done two of them and I've cranked out 1616 words. Yeah, definitely worth the $10. I found out that if I can keep up my minimum of 700 words per sprint, I only need to do 4 of them a day to make the 50K goal. However, I'm going to do as many of them in a day as I can sneak in. With 3 kids and a hubby, that can be tough sometimes. It's interesting how much can interrupt you in 15 minutes. LOL

Either way, I'm thrilled! Finally, something that makes it fun because I compete with myself to beat my last word count, and it keeps you going so the screen doesn't go red and make a horrid noise to wake up the kids in the middle of the night. LOL I know I could put it on "gentle mode" and then it just gives me a little pop up screen, but where's the scariness of that? LOL

Sorry, it's late and I'm excited. Time to take a small break and then I think I'll do another sprint before bed. Bigsmile
