Dream a while. Look at nothing in particular and let your mind float yourself there, across the room or across the street or countryside to those far away hills. Imagine looking down and around, you're maybe smaller or far above. Then float yourself into your computer and land yourself in your story. Look around and think of what's happening and see what your characters think or what the weather and business is happening around you. Follow them. then ... No. Wait a sec. That's when your wasted. Writer's block? Writer's block? Writer's block? Oh, yeah. You need to r e l a x . First, get wasted. Second read from top. Or the logical, analytic approach: Go look and see if you dropped anchor in your story a few paragraphs or pages back and something is holding it from continuing. It's amazing sometimes how your subconscious is stuck on something that just having a character open door number 2 will start it again.
