Noticing Newbies
A warm welcome to our newbies; come meet new and not-so-new members of Writing.Com! |
| Hi Stef. Allow me to give you some food for thought about posting your work. First, each item that you post is copyrighted under your name. That's part of the agreement to becoming a member of Writing.Com. Check out some other folk's offerings. You'll see the copyright notice at the boom of every item posted. You can read the WDC's Copyright Policy at "Writing.Com Copyright Policy" Second, no one can copyright an idea. And to be honest, an idea will mean something different to someone else. Consider a contest prompt. The same word or phrase or photo will generate any number of different stories by those who enter. I've been judging a contest for two years and have never had two people write the same story from a prompt. Only you can write a story your way. Finally, you will never be forced to post something here. There are many avenues for learning the things you seek, and you don't have to post to do that. When you do decide to post your work in order to get feedback--I think feedback on one's work is one of the best things about WDC--you can limit access to one person or a few folks. I wish you luck in your learning (and writing) endeavors. Dont forget: Click here http://www.writing.com/main/my_account.php?action=ea_form&type=newsletters to subscribe to our official WDC newsletters, especially the Noticing Newbies NL. |
