  It's time to turn up the dark. We are a WdC group for those who like to tread in the shadows and explore the more sinister side of the human experience. The Dark Society is dedicated to all things horror, thriller, and suspense -- our goal is to encourage writing and reviewing in these genres across Writing.Com. Horror isn't just about violence and gore; it's about the atmosphere of creeping terror that descends on us whenever we're exposed to the dark side of humanity. There are some truly talented individuals who write in this genre and we invite all of you to descend into darkness with us. Membership in The Dark Society is not required for participation in our contests, but we gladly accept anyone who wants to join. There are no membership requirements, and we offer a wide variety of benefits for members, including credits/GPs for reviews affiliated with the group, a forum where you can promote your work, and all kinds of good stuff like that. If you're interested in joining The Dark Society, email SoCalScribe   .Review Credits -- The Dark Society credits for affiliated reviews . If you affiliate your review with our group, and use our optional group review signature , you will receive public review credits, which not only give you Gift Points for your hard work, but also help increase your Community Recognition! The following review credits are currently offered: 100 GP minimum for Dark Society-affiliated reviews 250 GP minimum for Dark Society-affiliated reviews with a Dark Society review signature. The Dark Society group leaders have the option of awarding higher GP amounts for outstanding reviews, but these are the minimum amounts you will receive if you follow the guidelines. Please note that all reviews must be made public, and must be affiliated with the The Dark Society. The reason there is no option for "review signature only" is because we don't have the resources to monitor the public review list 24/7. By affiliating your review with The Dark Society, we can go to the group item and click on Affiliated Reviews to find your reviews. If you don't make your reviews public and affiliate them with the group, we won't be able to see them so that we can credit them!  The following is a directory of our current contests and activities:
