Recruiting Leaders in Training

Hi there, fellow SAJ members! Once again, we need your ideas and creativity in developing a program we've had in mind for some time now. Showering Acts of Joy is growing in leaps and bounds. With its growth, more leaders are needed to assist in the daily and weekly tasks that are needed to keep things running smoothly. We want to develop a kind of "Rookie Leaders" Group. This would consist of SAJ members interested in broadening their involvement with SAJ. There are all kinds of ways that these members could help. If you are interested, you will have an opportunity to tell us the kinds of tasks you would like to do.

Our idea is to pair each Rookie with an existing Leader. The Leader would mentor the Rookie and teach him/her the tricks of the trade. The Rookie would also serve as a back-up for the Leader if the Leader needs a substitute for a day or so.

In order to volunteer as a Rookie Leader, you need to be familiar with the basic navigation and editing skills of Writing.com. You don't have to be a computer geek, just knowledgeable enough to do the tasks you'll be assigned with minimal training. We would expect those trainees to be skilled reviewers. Again, we're not looking for perfection, just good, quality reviews. There is no minimum time frame for membership in SAJ. However, you must have been a member of Writing.com for at least three months.

First things first. We MUST come up with a good name for this group. PDG has Junior Leaders, so we need to find something different. I'm not crazy about Rookie Leader, because each of you will get a signature, and I don't think "Rookie" gives you the image we want you to have. HELP! Use your creative juices to come up with some great ideas for the name of these young leaders.

Even if you do not yet qualify to be a Leader Trainee, we still want your ideas and suggestions. So, please take a moment to fill out the survey. *Heart* I will see that everyone who answers every applicable question gets a free personalize signature.
