Writing short stories and poetry can be fun, but Darkin found herself wanting to do more. She loved reading novels, especially her favorite authors. But deep down, she wanted to write her own novel.
         So one day, she thought about what would be a wonderful novel. She wondered about writing a science fiction novel, but realized she really didn't have that in her.
         Then she wondered about writing a fantasy novel, but figured if she couldn't do a science fiction novel she probably wouldn't do well with fantasy either.
         Then it hit her. She loved reading historical romance novels. They were her favorite kind of novels. All those muscular men winning the hearts of those feisty women. Now that's the kind of novel for a romantic squirrel to write!
         So, our little squirrel sat down and thought up a story idea...and here it is:

         Breanna Warwick is the pawn in a dangerous game of chess between her father and Earl Creighton Worth. When her father is killed in a "hunting accident", her mother arranges a marriage of convenience between her and Sir Broderick Royce, a widower who lost his first wife during childbirth. Though reluctant to marry under these conditions, Broderick can't allow the Earl to marry Breanna. The Earl has been married three times, each wife dying under suspicious circumstances. Already hated by the Earl for besting him in a tournament, Broderick fears for Breanna's safety should the Earl succeed.
