Poetic Realms
A Squirrel's take on writing poetry
In the Darkin's younger days, she wrote a lot of poetry. It was a way to work out her fears, and problems. When something bothered her, she'd grab her notebook and pencil and write it down. Some were raw, some were silly, but all came straight from the deep recesses of her hairy psyche.
Those who know her best understand this desire to write poetry. It makes her happy, which saves lawn furniture from being chewed into scrap plastic.
But what those people don't understand is why she tends to mangle the poetic rules of structure and rhyming.
Well, it all started when Darkin was a poor gray squirrel, living in an old oak tree on Farmer Ohmay's land....oh, what's that, you're already heard this story?
Opps, sorry about that. Well, then, the real reason she mangles the poetic rules is because she has her very own Poetic License...from an accredited school!!! And it says she can do anything she wants, poetry-wise. Honest, it's hanging on her office wall, just left of her desk.
So there you have it, Darkin's reasons for writing poetry. If you want to read some of her work, check out...
