This marvelous Writing Community and Family is positively brimming with incredibly talented and creative people. It not only offers us an avenue for creative expression... but also wondrous opportunities to create bonds and establish lasting friendships, as well. Writing.com is, for many, a haven, an oasis... and a Virtual home. Often, relationships established here are even stronger and more meaningful than those we see in " real life " because they arise from the meeting, entwining, and trusting exchanges of minds, spirits, and souls without "visually oriented" distractions getting in the way. Very often, we are permitted to look in far more depth upon essences of one another here than is generally true of "real life", chance encounters ~ and for that reason, it is easy to understand why such tensile-strength bonds and friendships exist here in plentiful abundance.
But there is a drawback that can rear its ugly head at times, primarily because this virtual realm of sharing and creative expression, if we are not vigilant, can lull us into forgetful complacency. We are not just keyboards and monitors and hard drives ~ we are human beings. Because of our limited venue of communication here, we are unable to "see" the facial expression or "hear" the inflection in the voice of others "speaking" herein. And that can give rise to mis-cues, misunderstandings, conflicts, disagreements, issues, divides, etc. that can snowball with alarming speed. Unfortunately, deep and once very meaningful, longstanding friendships can be rendered the devastated fallout of the resulting avalanche.
It's happened, to one degree or another, to many of us here. But there is no problem that cannot be bettered by keenly and attentively sought-out solutions, and that is why this Forum now exists. I'd like to believe that this C-Note Shoppe will become, in its own little way, one such resource. After all, what have we to lose by trying? The worst case scenario is that your recipient might fail to respond. But if that happens, there will still be a great measure of peace, serenity, and a comforting sense of closure in knowing that you've sincerely made the "Offer of an Olive Branch".
A dove bringing an olive branch to man has long been equated with reaching out... an expressed wish for resolution, forgiving and forgiveness, relegation of the past to the past, and hope for a "no-fault" reunion and renewed, re-established friendships and ties. It is not an " admission of guilt " , a demand for or expectation of an apology , or anything else of that nature. It is merely an avenue for reaching out and re-connecting... and perhaps discovering that that which we treasure and are most bereft by the loss of may not be lost, after all. No problem exists in this world that cannot be wholly resolved or appreciably bettered by good intentions and the solutions we're sufficiently courageous and willing to apply.
I'm a huge believer in the "Pay It Forward" philosophy, and am hoping this Forum will prove to be just such a small but effective solution. That is why I will take no profit from the sales of these C-Notes ~ the charge for each of them will be only 250 G.P's apiece ~ all of which goes directly to WDC as their set fee for processing the C-Notes we send.
So give it a try... you've nothing at all to lose... and possibly an IMMENSE amount to gain!
