I love writing. I hope to be able to quit my Nursing job and write novels for a living.
I graduated from Oregon-Davis High School in 1974 in Indiana. I was a reporter for the Future Homemakers Of America Group. I was on the annual staff and school newspaper staff. I took Creative Writing and English classes in high school. I was the repoter for the Laporte-Hearld Argus Newspaper. I received a plaque in Journalism which I hung on the wall next to my Miss National Teen-Ager Finalist Plaque. I never saved stories I wrote in Creative Writing Class. I wished that I had. I wrote a poem Summer Wine which was printed in a book of poems by the students of Mrs. Crane's Writing Class. I was in Drama Orientation and I once had to write my own dialogue from "Our Town" because there was no script available for me and I wanted to do Emily from "Our Town." I wrote an essay on What's Right About America for the Miss Indiana Teen-Ager Pageant. I wrote an essay about Easter seals which I had to present for Drama Orientation. I did won the trophy for this. I won two other trophies for my acting. I was a Thespian and was in Thespian Society. I helped write the scripts for the Open Class Fashion Show. One was a Wizard Of Oz Theme and the other two scripts I helped write was a summer theme for summer clothes and Life Is A Fashion Show Theme.
I graduated from Ancilla College, a small two year private Catholic College in 1976 in Indiana. I have an Associate Of Arts Degree in Social Arts, majoring in Journalism and a minor in English. Sister Mary Delores made us write in journals and redo our stories until we got them right in her Writing Class. She was a good teacher and I love this Nun dearly. I wrote an essay on THE BELLE OF ARMHURST. Our class went to Chicago to see a Drama Orientation with Julia Harris {who later played in Knots Landing}. I got an A on this paper. I took a Children's Literature Class and we had to read and review 90 books. I got an A in this class and I loved children's books and still do. My favorite is The Velveteen Rabbit. I was on the College Newspaper Staff and I loved writing about college life and interviewing other students. I took Speech Class and had to write how to speeches, debate speeches and make up words as you go. I got a B in that class. I took Literature Classes but I like the writing class better. I loved going to a small college.
I worked at a Nursing job for years and I still do. I didn't start writing until 2002. I took a Free Lance Writing Class and Short Story Writing Class and I have diplomas in these. I have two published novels Passage To Romance and Princess Of Scruples avaiable at Barnes and Nobles and Amazon. com I wrote an article about why I love Gone With The Wind for the local newspaper and I helped write a few items for the newsletter at my job as well as the newsletter at Church. I have a poem and two stories published in Grand Reflections Magazine. I am working on a romance novel about a woman in the Smoky Mountains who has to choose between a city lawyer and her mountain boy childhood sweetheart. I have another novel Contessa which is here at Writing about a woman who has a healing touch and has adventures with her Native American female friend and finds a love interest later. The story takes place in Tennessee but the two women will end up in England. It is a 1860's time based story. I am a writer, author nd novelist. I am also a Creative Scrapbook Designer and I write articles and captions for all my scrapbooks. If you are a scrapbooker, writing plays a big part in scrapbooking as well as pictures and embellishments.
I am a author here at Writing and am a Moderator. I have several Awardicons and Merit Badges. My Port won second and third place in Ronnie's Best Ports Contest and I have an Author Plaque from Kiyasama for Author of the month. Please don't feel that I am bragging. I have a long ways to go before I achieve my writing dreams. I want to be a author like Danielle Steel. I hope you will read my port and find something of interest. I love writing romance, medieval items, poems and short stories. I write psychology items as well as Native American stories about women and I write items about women, too. Iam writing a Jane Austen story series here at Writing about me and a friend that go back to the past to Jane Austen's time. I also have a folder about Jane Austen and the characters from Pride and Prejudice characers and their lives that I have written. This is my writing life.
