It is late at night. A man is in his apartment after a dinner party. Slightly drunk, he begins to review his life. The dinner was a farewell, though the guests were not aware of it. He is deciding whether or not his life is worth living and ponders the nature of friendship and love as well as the inherent problems of not having any roots.
