![]() All of us here at WDC are writers. Some of us write poetry while others of us write dark and frightening novels. No matter the form or the material contained within our masterpieces, each of us gets something out of putting words on paper, or screen since the advent of the Internet. I want to know exactly how writing has helped you to grow as a person. Please feel free to share all the different ways your particular style and/or method has served to enlighten your life! |
"Writing is a gift from the Lord brought initially to me through my mother who shared crosswords and sci-fi books when I was a young, sickly, ninety-five pound weakling. From there the gift grew and has become a way to release the words that must exit!" -- Steve Ellen "Because I write satire and comedy, writing has not helped my personal growth at all. In fact, I feel stunted and immature. My once vibrant brain has shriveled and died. Now I live like an automaton, and not a particularly funny one. Thank you, writing. " -- Bre-Bre the Ringleader "The simple truth is that writing has saved my life on more than one occasion. It's my savior and my sanity. Without it I would never be able to express the pains, happiness, and comedic statements that I can't find the courage to speak aloud." -- Sherri the Writer "Writing is the fine art of showing off our lack of perception, insight and understanding while being a brilliant showcase for our most cherished inadequacies. Occasional we get it all wrong and something enjoyable comes of it." -- Mark "Writing has become a new form of communication. You can share your life, your worries, your yearnings, and your dreams with total strangers. You find comfort in those people that you really would not known otherwise." -- Omni~pink bubbles r everywhere "Writing is the act of taking your ideas, thoughts, beliefs, feelings, opinions, questions and answers and turning them into tangible objects for all to share." -- Kristi "Writing is a little way awkward for myself but I persist writing daily and better and better get so one day I too be rich like other great writers so maybe you want to help and send some GPs to me and I thank you in my book." -- Steve Ellen "Writing...a world I create...and I share...in this world, I can entertain but I can also share intimately what is on my heart...and it is fulfilling." -- Bre-Bre the Ringleader "Writing is a form of release that helps me grow as a person. What I read of other's writings often is inspirational. And I agree with everything written below!" -- Carol St. Ann "Writing is a way for me to purge those feeling I have bootled up. If not for this release, I might spontaniously combust:P" -- Smiling Sonali WDC Power #1! "Writing can be a private experience that can live long after the moment. I live better when my emotions and writing are expressed." -- ShellySunshine "Writing allows me to express myself through fiction better than I can through nonfiction." -- Ariana "Writing transforms life's ups and downs into a delicate masterpeice of memories from which many lessons can be learnt. " -- Nish Laverz "Writing has helped me to deal with the suicide of my granny. I have only 1 poem & 1 letter, but both helped tremendously. Both writings allowed me to get inside my granny's head which was essential for me in obtaining closure." |
