Book: The Chronicles of Amber, Roger Zelazny. Just the first five books, from "Nine Princes in Amber" through "The Courts of Chaos". Amazing, UNIQUE (used in its correct sense) fantasy.

Book: The Lightning Thief, Rick Riordan. Laugh at me all you want, but I found this to be a lot of fun for young adult literature. And Percy in the film was awfully cute.

Book: Strangers by Dean Koontz. A wonderful book where you aren't entirely sure what is going to happen. It also has a great cast of main characters.

Book: Good Poems, by Garrison Keillor. I used to think poetry was opaque, too intellectual for mere mortals. This and other modern anthologies showed me that unfathomable poetry has gone out of style, and that modern poetry can actually be fun to read.
