History of photograph--A lot of people have been asking me various questions about this photograph and I thought I'd answer them here. I took this photograph about 9 years ago in Central Park downtown Oregon. I took the picture with a disposable camera (color film) in the wintertime which added to the spooky feel of it. I loved the picture and it turned out in an assortment of grays and muted colors. The only vivid color was the red door on the church. Though it's not a church anymore, it's an art museum now. I took the picture at the right time because now the old big tree is gone. I experimented with the color of this photograph and blew it up to put in the fair (it won a ribbon too). I tried it in black and white, color and then sepia toned seemed to fit it best and create a spooky feel to it. Though I feel the picture is much better in person and it's bigger (8x10) I had to get it so tiny to fit in my port. So I don't feel that it captures all of the beauty of it, but you get the general idea here. I hope you enjoy the picture, it's one of my personal favorites. I also entered this photo in a Contest and it was placed in the top ten out of thousands of photos by one of the judges. I was so excited when I noticed this today. How could I miss it? It's an honor to even be mentioned on there since the photos are so gorgeous and professional looking (amature contest). It's the only contest that I trust since most of those photo contests are scams that offer you thousands of dollars and fame and fortune. This one has simple prizes of 50 bucks, etc if you win. It's more of a recognition thing. Oh by the way, I titled this picture Shady Lane because I thought it fit the photograph. That's not the actual street name. P.S If you'd like to see the actual photograph as an 8x10 let me know and email me. I'll email it to you. It's so much better than this little picture it would shock you Shady Lane |
