Yup - this monster is a volcanic mountain - and us crazy kiwi's ski on it. This mountain is quite active, and blows its top about once every ten years. This photo was taken a couple of months ago - my mother lives near it. It has changed it's look again recently as it had a lahar - so now it has a big stripe down the side where all the water and mud came down.
Pretty exciting stuff.
