Acidanthera bicolor - Peacock Orchid
Blooms in the late September garden.

Beautiful, fragrant and shade tolerant! The bulbs are tender and must be dug and stored in my zone 6 garden, and I must confess that I don't bother. I don't have a place that maintains a consistent cool temp for storing bulbs. I just replace them each year. I wait until June to plant them so they will bloom late. Maybe next year I'll get more and stagger the planting so I can keep them going for a month or so.
